That is my next, next, next, next project: learning to quilt.Daniellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16432840953994166762noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5998521225863214184.post-56001138084710649902011-09-05T14:29:24.255-04:002011-09-05T14:29:24.255-04:00My Labour Day project: vegetarian moussaka! I bought this awesome fabric from Spoonflower...have you heard of Spoonflower Danielle? You should. Little aside here...

...Spoonflower (www.spoonflower.com) is a website where you can upload any design of your choice, and have it printed on the fabric of your choice. Which is pretty cool right there in and of itself. But even cooler is that you can make your design available to other people to purchase, and so it's got all kinds of wicked-cool fabrics for sale....

...a few months ago, Spoonflower had a contest (they have a weekly contest) with the theme of "folk tales", and one of the entries was one called "Yggdrasil" - http://www.spoonflower.com/fabric/599867 - which is the 'world tree' in norse mythology. My niece's name happens to be Yggdrasil, so I was very excited to see this design, and I bought 2 yards of the fabric to make something for Yiggy. But the problem is, I haven't figured out what to make for her yet. I was going to make a dress, but the design is too large to make a dress for her (she's only 6). So now I'm thinking maybe a quilt or something?StaceyRnoreply@blogger.com
